Napier, known as a rebuilt city in North Island after the invigorating earthquake along the Pacific shores of Hawke's Bay. Situated as the capital of the Hawkes Bay region, Napier is renowned for a beautiful coastline, stately Norfolk pines, and Napier is now known as the Art Deco city with 1930's art deco architecture.
That elegant building design style is celebrated in a festival each February, but it's not the only reason Napier and the Hawke's Bay area gets its attention.

Some of these attractions would be the mountainous east coast adjoins silvery lakes, rugged beaches and still bays. View the hallmark of New Zealand - kiwi birds, visit the Napier Kiwi House which is very special to New Zealand. Originally, the Kiwi gets its name from the shrill whistle of the male bird. This stocky Kiwi, a nocturnal brown bird is around the size of a chicken and it cannot fly. Let's fulfil your sense of curiosity towards Kiwi there.

By rail

Tranz Rail Ltd operates a reliable rail service on 4000km of railway with many routes of great scenic attraction. It is with good views of forests, gorges Trans Scenic and volcanic peaks.

By road

There are regional bus networks which serve most parts of the country. Good local bus services are provided in the main towns.
