Cerro Santa Lucia (St. Lucia Hill)

Cerro Santa Lucia (St. Lucia Hill) in Santiago

Here at St. Lucia Hill, you'll be able to find an art fair and gallery at the base of the hill--an excellent place to buy Aymara, Rapa Nui, and Mapuche crafts. Walking up the hill takes about 30 minutes and winds you through a spiral maze of interconnected paths, plazas, and fountains. An elevator, on the north end of the hill at Huérfanos and Santa Lucia, climbs halfway to the summit; beware of its erratic scheduling. The crow's nest, reached via a series of steep and slippery stone steps, affords an excellent 360-degree view of the entire city. Hours: 7:30 am-9 pm
