In the south west of Botswana, the 28,000 square km. Gemsbok
National Park, which is contiguous to the South African
Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, has been joined with the
adjacent Mabuasehube Game Reserve. The area supports numerous
Kala-han ungulates - wildebeest, eland, hartebeest, gemsbok
and springbok, and a healthy population of large predators
- lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. The south eastern end
of the park consists of linear sand dunes and the fossil
river valley Nossob.
