North Korea History and Culture

History
The origins of Koreans coincides with the early period of human civilization. The process of evolution in Korea proves it. The climate had been mild about 3-4 million years ago in the Cenozoic Era(with the emergence of human beings on earth).
It had provided the animals and plants favourable conditions for living. After thousands of years had passed, human beings were originated. The origination and development of human beings can be found with Pyongyang as the centre.

The 29 kinds of fossilized bones of animals and primitive stone implements remained by primitive men were correspondent to about one million years ago.
They were discovered in Hugu-ri, Sangwon County, Pyongyang in Juche 55(1996). The fossilized bones of Palaeolithic man were discovered in Ryokpho District, Pyongyang. The fossilized bones of Neolithic man and New Stone Age and Bronze age were also discovered in different areas.
The discoveries show that the Korean Peninsula has every claim to be one of the cradles of human society. And they prove that the Korean Nation is a single nation with a long history developed from the primitive age to the modern age.

Culture
Cultural activity is aided and encouraged by the government. Korean culture, including many traditional aspects such as food, dress, art, architecture, and folkways, is motivated in part by the historical experience of cultural domination by both the Chinese and the Japanese.
