It is a grand momunent showing the immortal revolutionary
history of struggle of the Korean people carried out under
the leadership of the great leader Comrade Kim II Sung,
the peerless great man.
It is situated on the Mansu Hill in the city centre.
It was erected in April Juche 61(1972) on the occasion of
the great leader Comrade Kim II Sung.
The bronze statue of the great leader is in the centre.
Two memorials and a grand mosaic mural are on the hill.
It covers an area of 240,000 square metres. The memorials
are each 22.8m high, composed of 228 figures(119 figures
on the right memorial and 109 figures on the left memorial).
The figures are 5m high. The mosaic mural is in the front
wall of the Korean Revolution Museum. It depicts the Paektu,
scared mountains of revolution, forming the backgorund to
the statue.
