Oulu Children's Theatre Festival
Oulu, February 22 - 28, 2000
The Oulu City Theatre organises the Children's Theatre Festival every year in February. Over the week, there are some 50-60 drama performances, together with exhibitions, workshops, concerts and a seminar. Besides the finest in Finnish children's theatre, there are visiting productions from several European countries. A festival club also gives performers an extra chance to meet one another in the evenings away from the seminars and workshops. A detailed programme will be published in early January.

Musica Nova Helsinki

Oulu Music Festival

Oulu, March 12 - 19, 2000
This festival celebrates the awakening of the Northern Spring. Features evergreen favourites such as Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Mozart's sonatas for piano and violin, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and Schubert's song suite Die schöne Müllerin.

Hetta Music Event

Hetta, Enontekio, March 28 - April 4, 2000
The Hetta Music Event is an Eastertide festival of sacred and early baroque music held amidst the snowy hills of the Kalotte region in the northernmost outpost of the European Union. The main festival venue is the village of Hetta in Enontekio, a place where the sun shines brightly, the heart glows warmly and the musical programme ranges from Bach's St. Mark Passion to the traditional Joiku of the Sami.

Tango Festival

Seinajoki, July 7 -11, 2000
The Tango Festival comes to life at Seinajoki on the 15th Tango Festival. An encounter between the melancholy Finnish and fiery Argentine tango is a wonderful experience. Dancing starts from early morning till the next day.
