The mint was established in 1899. It is now Australia's
specialist gold, silver and platinum coin maker. A museum
contains a variety of historical displays with more attention
to coins, the gold industry, prospecting and precious metals.
Hourly shows on how real gold is poured can also be watched
from 10am to 3pm on workdays and 10am to 12pm at weekends.
