Sovereign Hill located in Ballarat is the place where the
1850s goldrush happened. It has won the National Tourism
and Museum Awards. This former gold mining site has a big
area of about 60 acres with 40 bildings. Visitors can pan
for real gold, ride on a horse-drawn coach, all at this
place which was recreated to represent the atmosphere and
life of 140 years ago.
