Lombok City Guide
Indonesia>Lombok
Lombok is a cultural crossroad, a gateway to east Indonesia,
where diverse cultures meet and mix- The Sasak, Balinese
Hindu and Arab Traders. The resulting blend is something
Lombok calls its own. Here warm and friendly people share
their culture and traditional and traditions with visitors
from far and wide.
Lombok is where the transition from the western to the
eastern Indonesian fauna and flora begins. The northern
part of the island is mountainous and verdant with tall
trees and shrubs covering the land. The south is arid and
covered by savannas.
A must visit spot from waves swept beaches to fertile rice
farm and Mount Rinjani, one of Indonesia's tallest mountains,
Lombok's unspoiled landscape provide stunning backdrop to
any holiday.
Lombok island has white virgin beaches, an age-old culture,
separated by merely a narrow strait from Bali, it is only
now being discovered as a tourist destination of exceptional
charm. Have a swim or dip in the clear water of the rivers
in Lombok Island; Jangkok, Dodokan and Babakan.
