Though it is no longer as frenetic as it was during the
oil boom of the 1970s, the town's main dock entertains a
steady parade of cruise and cargo ships, a reminder that
the city started from this strategic harbor.
It's on Wrightson Road, the main street along the water
on the southwest side of town.
