The habour is an important historical site. This is where
the seven canoes departed the Cook Islands and set sail
for New Zealand in the year 1350 as part of the great Polynesian
Migration.
There are seven rocks representing the seven canoes that
departed. Located opposite the Ngatangiia Church.
