To go with his gigantic pagoda, Bodawpaya had a gigantic
bell cast in the year 1790. Weighing 90 tons it is claimed
to be the largest hung uncracked bell in the world. The
bell is about four meters high and over five meters in diameter
at the lip. One can scramble right inside and someone could
give the bell a good thump on the outside so that the one
inside could hear the ring from the interior.
