The grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is home
to one of North America's largest collection of free flying
butterflies. The park exhibits a wide variety of butterflies
from around the world living in a lush, rain forest like
environment. A 183 m (600 ft.) network of pathways provides
access for the physically challenged throughout the 1,022
square meter (11,000 square foot) conservatory, allowing
visitors a rare opportunity to watch numerous species of
butterflies floating majestically among nectar producing
flowers such as lantanas, pentas, and passion flowers. The
park is closed on public holidays.
